What Is My IP Address?

Reveal your public IPv4 or IPv6 address and review approximate network details.

Check this connection

The result can show an IPv4 or IPv6 address plus approximate network details.

RouterNAT does not save the displayed IP in its application database.

What is a public IP address?

A public IP address identifies an internet connection to external services. Your ISP normally assigns it to a modem, router, mobile gateway, VPN server, or another network edge.

The displayed address may change. Dynamic assignments, router reconnections, mobile handoffs, VPNs, and ISP network changes can produce a different result later.

IPv4 and IPv6

IPv4 uses four decimal groups, while IPv6 uses a longer hexadecimal format. A connection may support both protocols and websites may see either address family.

Why location is approximate

IP databases estimate location from network registration and routing data. They cannot reliably identify a street address, and the displayed city may represent an ISP facility or nearby service area.

Privacy

RouterNAT does not store this result in its application database. A geolocation provider processes the public IP to supply approximate network details. Standard access logs may retain connection information for security and operations.
